Officials excitedly turned dirt at the new Red Deer Lake school on Friday.

School Division Superintendant Jim Mclellan says the project wasn't without it's initial challenges."It presented a bit of a challenge in terms of the elevations," he said.  "We think that's going to add to the beauty of the project in the end as well.  We're looking forward to all of that finishing up in about a year's time."  McLellan says the project has been in the works for some time, and will be able to accomodate about five hundred students when it opens.
