Okotoks Bryn Roy has traded Alouette blue, for the iconic green of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Roy, who got his start playing with Calgary Stampeders Receiver Anthony Parker with the Foothills Falcons, found himself looking for a job after being released by Montreal last year.

He says, even as a Stamps fan growing up, he has no problem putting on the Rider jersey today.

"Even when I was in Montreal I wanted to play for Saskatchewan! So, I'm excited to say of all the places I could've wound up, I ended up signing here. They've treated me great so far, so I'm excited about it."

Roy, who's listed on the Riders depth chart as a fullback, will make his debut this Sunday in the Labour Day Classic in Regina.

Former Foothills Falcons teammates Bryn Roy (L) and Anthony Parker (R) during Roy's playing days in Montreal. The pair won't meet again this year unless it's in the playoffs as the Stamps & Riders have already had their regular season match-up's.
