Mr. Alexander McConville Rogers, a long-time resident of High River, passed away peacefully at the High River Hospital on April 15, 2020 at the age of 78 years due to the COVID-19 virus.

Alex will be dearly missed by his wife of 54 years Roberta and their two sons Rob and Jim all of High River.

Alex will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren: Tyler (Ashley) of St. Johns, NFLD; Brooklyn (Richard) of Okotoks; Melissa (Cody) of High River; Connor of Calgary; Jacob of High River.

He is also survived by his sisters: Margaret Dumont, Maryanne (Gordon) MacKinnon, Kay (Vic) Kotsibie, as well as his brothers-in law and sisters-in-law: John (Brenda) Wallace, Marlene (Ron) Loomis, Beth Wallace and Sheila Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews whom Alex was like a second father to.

He was predeceased by his siblings: Billy, Ricky “Brian”, Jimmy, and Jean Otterson, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sybil and Jack DeMaere, Lloyd Wallace, Roger Otterson and Richard Dumont.

Alex worked for C.I.L. Explosives for thirty-two years, both in Calgary and Blackie. He retired in 1997 and since then, spent much of his time enjoying his family, especially his grandchildren which he had a special bond with each of them.

Alex had a passion for sports, enjoying both playing and watching and certainly enjoyed a beer or two while visiting with friends and family.

A Celebration of Alex’s life will be held at a later date.
