One more big road construction project is about to cause a few headaches for High River residents this summer.

When it is done the traffic flow around Spitzee School should be safer thanks to a partnership between the Town and the Foothills School Division.

The Divison and the Town worked together to come up with the plans that include lights for the cross walks and moving the bus loading and unloading zone to the front of the building along MacLeod trail.

Assistant Superintendent of Corporate Services Drew Chipman says the FSD is excited about the changes.

They have been great to work with us and let us know what is going on,"said Chipman. "It will be a little bit of a struggle for us to work around it but they have committed to being done as quick as s they can."

Road regulations have also changed since the last road work was done around the school.

"We are not allowed to have the same number of approaches on our site that we currently have, so we have two approaches that are within a few metres of each other so we will will be losing one of them and that allows us to get the buses in front of the school."

It will make things safer especially with the new cross walks."

"If parents follow where the suggested places for drop off students it certainly will be a safer issue for students."

The work will start at the end of May and be finished by Sept. 1.
