High River's Conner Bleackley helped send the Brandon Wheat Kings packing at the Memorial Cup Wednesday night.

The Red Deer Rebels knocked off the WHL Champions 2-1 in overtime as Bleackley set up Evan Polei for the eventual game winner.

The Rebels had already clinched a berth into Friday's semi-final against the QMJHL Rouyn-Noranda Huskies but with winning took Brandon out of the tie breaker game that would have been played Thursday.

Bleackley has registered two assists in three games in the round robin so far.

Friday's semi goes at 6 p.m.
