The Rocky Mountain Raiders "AAA" Midget Girls get their season going with a pair of games this weekend.

Coach Dustin Borbandy says they're starting fresh this season.

"Kind of a rebuild year. We went into the league with 12 first years, which is kind of unheard of. But we felt that that was the direction we need to get going and to try and build and develop these players from the ground up."

The Raiders welcome the Calgary Fire to the Scott Seaman Sports Rink at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 5.

Borbandy, says he'll have a good idea about the type of team he's got after the weekend.

"To break one out of the two would be great confidence wise. But then to really take shape and notes of where we are and really focus on what we need to move on here for our next practices to kind of get a starting point and see what's paying off and what's not."

They're in St. Albert Sunday, October 6, to face the Slash.
