Province provides more money for increased school enrolment

The province is providing $1.2 billion dollars over the next three years for school enrolment growth.

They say the money will allow school divisions to hire 3,100 more teachers and classroom support staff.

In addition, the budget provides more than $1.5 billion to school authorities over the next three years so they can continue to provide specialized learning supports. 

In the 2024-25 fiscal year, the Ministry of Education’s operating budget will reach an all-time high of almost $9.3 billion, an increase of 4.4 per cent.
