I think today was #passionfriday.  All of the guests on my show are extremely passionate about what they do.  It was exciting, intoxicating and really filled up the positive cup on a Friday morning.

Emily Ritchie from Turner Valley was the Sr. winner of the Alberta Young Speakers for Agriculture contest held at the Calgary Stampede.  This is the first year this contest took place and will send both her and the Jr winner (Aleri Swalwell from Strathmore) to Toronto for the Canadian finals this November during the Royal Winter Fair.  Listening to Emily talk about agriculture and her hopes and dreams for the future was awesome.

Part of the contest winning included $1000 but the money win never crossed Emily's lips.  She was more excited for the opportunity to share her views on agriculture in our country and province and to educate people on where their food comes from.  We will be hearing MUCH MORE from Ms. Ritchie.

Professional rodeo announcer Mike Labelle checked in with his Friday morning update.  Rodeo action and WPCA races all weekend to take in.

Then High River's Economic Development Officer Jodi Dawson popped on the show.

There is a contest going on right now with the Town of High River to encourage more people to use the "walk-ability" of our community.  So if you bike, roller skate, walk or some mode outside of your car...to work, to shop to meet a friend....take a picture and post it on your social media with the #hrnocarsummer.  You will be entered to win a $100 gift certificate!! You have until September 30th to post your pics.

And we got into a great discussion on the growth of business and the incredible opportunity for business right now in High River.

#DidYouKnow there was 50 new businesses that opened in our community since January??  That's amazing!
