Sunny day in the foothills today! What a perfect day to spend outside visiting Sheppard Family Park!

Today the park was host to the Old Time Threshing Event, which was a hit to all ages young and old.

For $5 per person or $15 per family, it seemed that the event hand lots of locals from High River and even people from out of town, and out of province!

Lots of entertainment made the event special today including live folk music, children games, vegetable contests, and a blacksmith demo which started at 9am. People had two chances to watch the Threshing live which was at 11am and 2pm.

Most people said the event was something really interesting. Most people had no idea what Threshing even was! If you aren't exactly sure what it is,  Threshing is the process of loosening the edible part of cereal grain (or other crop) from the scaly, inedible chaff that surrounds it.

Sheppard Family Park is located at the corner of 12th Ave. and 5th St. SE High River. The park is open for day use only from May 1st to October 31st.
