An Okotoks pool that was closed last week due to water quality is remaining closed for the time being.

On Nov. 14, a water sample from Swindell's leisure pool was taken for routine testing and was found to have an HPC count over 100.

In cooperation with AHS, the town closed the pool on Nov. 17.

According to the town, they were informed by AHS that there was minimal risk to those who'd been in the pool recently.

The town has stated that the pool will remain closed until the water is back to meeting Alberta Pool standards.

An update from the town was released on Nov. 20 to notify residents that the pool would remain closed, and a similar update was released on Nov. 22.

The Riley Minue pool, hot tub, and sauna have been unaffected by the closure.

Residents whose recreation schedules have been impacted by the closure are being contacted by the town.
