The Okotoks Parade and Children's Festival will make a comeback on Saturday, June 17.

The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast presented by the Lions Club of Okotoks in the post office parking lot (27 McRae St.) from 8-10 a.m.

It's breakfast by donation, with proceeds going toward the Lions Club's Hot Lunch Program.

The parade is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m., while the Children's Festival will take place at the Arts & Learning Campus on the same day.

To facilitate the parade, the following road closures will be in effect from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm:

South Railway Street, Riverside Drive, Northridge Drive, Elizabeth Street, McRae Street, and North Railway Street from Stockton Avenue to Northridge Drive.

Lineham Avenue to Stockton Avenue will also be closed from 8:00 am until 2:30 pm, while Lineham Avenue west to Northridge Drive and South Railway to Northridge Drive will be closed from 10:00 am until 2:30 pm.

This year's parade theme is the 2023 Alberta Summer Games, which is being hosted in Okotoks and Black Diamond in July.

Along with floats, it'll feature horses, bands, dancers, and more.

The Children's Festival will feature a variety of stage performers. Among them will be the Hula Hoop Circus, a family and group hypnosis show presented by Ruth Ferguson, Kids Zumba with Tamara as well as a petting zoo, and face painting. There will also be a selection of food trucks.
