The Okotoks Oilers were shut out Saturday night as they took a 2-0 loss to the Whitecourt Wolverines.

Oilers Goalie Riley Morris saved 43 out of 45 shots but the Okotoks team wasn't able to produce anything offensively.

With the loss at home the Oilers are currently sitting third in the AJHL south standings with a 7-3-1 record.

Oilers forward Jordie Lawson says the team needs to step it up in some particular areas in order to break their three game losing streak.

"I think we are just playing on the perimeter. We'd get one shot and we couldn't get the second or third and that's where we are going to score most of our goals. We aren't going to dangle through everyone and put it top shelf, that's not the team we are. We have to be a lot better in the d-zone, shots were 48-19 or something, I don't even know how many times we've gotten over 20 shots this year. So we have to be a lot better in the d-zone and score more goals."

Lawson and the Oilers look to redeem themselves today, October 16th, against the Calgary Canucks who sit at the top of the south division.

Puck drop is at 4:15 p.m. at the Pason Centennial Arena.
