An Okotoks man is among four suspected drug traffickers arrested in Calgary.

On Sept. 22, an organized crime team from Alberta Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) searched two homes in Calgary in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.

The investigation revolved around drug trafficking at the Calgary Stampede in July, specifically the sale of cocaine at the event.

Police searched homes and two vehicles in Auburn Bay and Eau Claire and seized 338 grams of cocaine (worth an estimated $33,000), and $14,000 in cash.

Four men have been charged:

  • Geoffrey Scott, 50-year-old from Okotoks
  • Wade Lieu, 38-year-old from Calgary
  • Mark Hua, 32-year-old from Calgary
  • Huy Nhan, 42-year-old from Calgary

Staff Sgt. Jeff Ringelberg with ALERT Calgary was quoted in a release:

"Thanks to information provided and developed criminal intelligence, ALERT was able to identify and implicate several suspects involved in drug trafficking at the Stampede. ALERT was happy to work hand-in-hand with our partners at the Calgary Police Service to target those that jeopardize this safe, family-friendly event."
