With another season just weeks away, the Okotoks Curling Club is gearing up for one of its busiest years yet.

Coordinator Lynn Ardiel says it all gets started on Sep. 30.

"We've got the learn to curl clinic going on that night from 6 till 10," she says. "So a good four hours, if you're rusty, never done it before, want to see it, come on out."

Ardiel says they have a big "mystery event just a few days later on Oct. 3.

"The Town of Okotoks has the Year of Sport, and (Oct. 3) is our Day of Curling," she says. "If you've never done it, want to see it, you have to be there. Please come from 12-4, we've got some exciting guests, we've got some big confirmations, we're going to let them speak for themselves though."

Ardiel says the fun doesn't stop there, as they have a number of big events to take them through the rest of the season.

"We've got a senior's open this year, it's going to be fantastic, that's Nov. 14 to 18," she says. "We kick it off into the new year with the ladies bonspiel Jan. 22 to 24, we've got a mixed bonspiel Feb 5 through 7, and the men's, of course, follow up the end of the season Mar. 11 to 13."

Ardiel says registration for curling leagues is also coming up fast, and goes Sep. 15 at 7 p.m.
