The Okotoks Oilers are down to their last straw in their South Division Semi Final with the Camrose Kodiaks after falling 5-4 Tuesday night.

Camrose scored the first three goals of the first period including two goals in 85 seconds to give themselves an early 3-0 lead.

Despite the deficit the Oilers did turn things up from there cutting the deficit down to two twice and finally down to one in the 3rd frame when Carter Huber fired one past goaltender Patrick Gora 1:06 in.

Cole McBride would score the eventual winner with 4:50 left in regulation.

Forward Joe Karpyshyn says he saw a different team in the 2nd and 3rd periods.

"It showed that all four lines were contributing tonight, I think almost every single line got a goal that just shows how deep we can be in the playoffs and how we can trust every player on the ice and it just shows how everybody was working hard after that 1st period and if we just keep doing that we can comeback in this series," he says.

The Oilers out shot the Kodiaks 31-18 in the loss.

Karpyshyn says in order to keep this series from ending Thursday they need only one thing.

"Hard work, honestly hard work and a good start. If we come out with a good start and then keep working hard like we did tonight we can beat them for sure."

Game 4 is 7 p.m. at Pason Centennial Arena.

A possible game 5 would be in Camrose on Saturday.
