The Okotoks Oilers are back on the road Tuesday night as they make their way to Canmore to battle the Eagles.

The last time the Oilers were in Canmore they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, losing 6-5 in the shoot-out, in a game they led almost until the end.

Coach James Poole says he'll be reminding the boys about that.

"Absolutely it's going to be a message. And I think it's a positive that we can use that as a bit of a motivational message for the players, as we obviously took them (Canmore) for granted the last time we were there a couple of weeks back, and we paid the price because of it."

The motivation factor of that game has actually been felt for the Oilers ever since as they've rattled off four wins in their last five starts.

But Poole says it could be a tougher task to get the boys "up" for this game coming off an emotional Showcase Weekend in Camrose.

"It's always a dangerous time after the Showcase Weekend, you can have a bit of a let down. And that's where we need to as coaches, keep the focus on Canmore and getting a little revenge from the last time we played them. The message now is now that we're through the Showcase we need to keep pushing ourselves as a team and keep looking forward."

It's also an important game for the Oilers in the standings, as a win will give the second place Oilers a five point cushion over the fifth place Eagles.
