The Okotoks Oilers will look for win #14 on the "road" Tuesday night as they head to High River for an AJHL neutral site game against the Calgary Mustangs.

Despite the game being in High River the Oilers will be the road team for the game but are looking forward to giving the local fans a strong showing of high calibre Junior Hockey at the Rec-Plex.

The Oilers are coming off a split weekend where they took out Olds 5-2 Friday but fell to the top team in the league in the Spruce Grove Saints Saturday 4-2 despite giving the Saints all they could handle with having two different leads in Saturday's tilt.

Oilers Head Coach and General Manager James Poole says the team's effort in against the Saints is something he's looking for in the final nine regular season games heading into the post season.

"That's the standard of compete level that we need to bring every single night and if we do we're going to win a lot of hockey games," he says. Now the challenge to them is to back it up and bring it night after night and that has to start Tuesday in High River."

The Oilers are coming off a 4-2 loss to the Mustangs in Calgary on January 9 but lead the season series 3-1.

Poole says his team can't drop to the level of the Mustangs who current sit dead last in the South Division.

"They play an aggressive style that  they really want to swarm around the puck and if we play a certain individual style that will be effective against us because that will create a lot of turnovers," he says. "But if we can be smart and play good heads up hockey and move the puck quick I think we'll be able to beat their pressure and create a lot of offensive opportunities."

The Oilers did practice at the Rec-Plex Monday in preparation for Tuesday's match-up and Poole says it will be like another home game for the Oilers with the travel only being minutes away for fans and an even shorter commute who make their way to Calgary for road games at Father David Bauer Arena.

"It's a nice change going to a different venue and the fact that it still is somewhat of home game in terms of being in the Foothills. I think the kids are looking forward to something different and hopefully we can get a good atmosphere in the rink, we know it's going to be a smaller rink but hopefully we can get a strong showing of support."

Puck drop is 7:30 p.m.
