The Okotoks Oilers fell to the Whitecourt Wolverines Friday night 5-2.

The loss puts the Oilers 8 points behind the second place Camrose Kodiaks.

Oilers player Jordan Davies says that the Wolverines are a tough team to play.

"We were right there with them, they are a top team in the league, but we stayed with them all game just couldn't get the results that we wanted," Davies says.

Davies says that he believes the Oilers will have a good play off run they just have to deal with a couple of hiccups.

"We are a young team and that means we have to show maturity which is something I think we are lacking."

The Oilers take on the Calgary Canucks Saturday night at Pason Centennial Arena.

The puck drops at 7 PM.
