The Notre Dame Collegiate JV Boys Volleyball team has made history by capturing its first Foothills Athletic Council High School League title.

A release from the school says the Wolves Den was electric as the Notre Dame Timberwolves JV boys' volleyball team beat the Holy Trinity Academy Knights in five sets in the FAC gold medal championship Thursday, Nov. 17 at Notre Dame Collegiate.

The Wolves won the fifth set in a squeaker winning by just two points.

This is the first FAC title in Notre Dame's school's history.

"It was one of the most exciting and emotional sporting experiences I've had", says coach Jason Reid. "The team has a passion for volleyball, and I am blessed they took me along for this ride".

Capping off an outstanding season, the Wolves finished the regular season atop the FAC league with seven wins and one loss.

The team also captured the silver medal at the Canmore Invitational earlier in the season.

After the league win, the team had to refocus and focus its attention on the South Central Zone Championships the very next night.

The Wolves finished pool play on top of the pool with wins over Oilfields and Acme.

Unfortunately, they lost to Airdrie Christian in the semi-finals but bounced back in the bronze medal game beating Strathcona-Tweedsmuir in two sets.
