The Town of High River has new formalized Level of Service policy for the Fire Department.

Fire Chief Cody Zebedee says it's a pretty general document that outlines the level of service ratepayers in the community can expect.

"The updated one, we just made it a little bit clearer as to what level we're going to provide those services, so for example, a structural fire fighting is, our level of service is that we'll go interior, we'll take lines into buildings, do searches, fight fires from the inside, so we just kind of brushed up on some of the things that we've added to our scope over the years, such things as swift water rescue and ice rescue and just made sure those were captured in our level of service," Zebedee says.

Town administration and the fire department worked on the policy and town council passed it at a meeting September 13.
