One big change at the Turner Valley Golf Club this year with former Head Pro J.D. Scheller getting kicked upstairs to the General Manager's office.

Scheller replaces Gary Taylor who left over the winter to work on the groundskeeping staff at Priddis Greens.

Scheller says overall not much will physically change at the club this year.

"Kind of the same old same old. We'll do some new marketing and stuff. Not much changes with the golf course this year. Everything's going to stay virtually similar. No big plans for construction or anything like that this year."

One change golfers will notice, and like, is no more vehicles driving through the middle of the 14th hole, as the Town of Turner Valley has shut down and closed off Imperial Drive.

With Scheller moving into the G.M. role, that did leave an opening for a new Head Pro, and Scheller says they didn't have to go too far to find the man for the job.

"We hired Mark Emsley from the Priddis Greens Golf Club. He was a Senior Associate Golf Pro there for 10 years. He'll be a great addition to our staff."

Scheller says they're looking at opening up for the season on or around Friday, April 8.
