Despite a slow start and worries around COVID, 2020 turned out to be a banner year for the Nanton Golf Club.

They say they saw 30,000 rounds played out there this year, which really helped pad their bottom line.

But with that many people the golf course and the increased golf cart traffic has caused the course to suffer a bit putting it in need of some TLC.

So, the club will shut down the front nine after next weekend, Monday, October 5th, to start doing some major tree trimming, aerating the fairways and tee boxes and rebuilding some of the tee boxes as well.

The back nine will remain open for another week, with members looking to play 18 holes having to play the back twice.

The course will shut down for the season after the Thanksgiving long weekend with their final day of operations slated for Monday, October 12.
