Just when we thought we were out of the woods - or well, the snow drifts in our case, there is more snow on the way next weekend.

Everyone's mood has been affect by the drab and dreary weather; even after Mother Nature teased us with some milder weather... it's like she had to run back into the fight and yell, "And another thing!"

Kids are probably dealing with this better than us adults because their imaginative and you know how to dress them for the weather. We seem to forget as we get older apparently... (Fashion victim over here).

Your kids are probably just itching (well probably because of the dryness of the air) to see spring, just as much as us at this point though.

Since the sandbox (and everything) is covered... what can your kids do outside to bring their spirits up?

Go sledding! Get a sled or make a sled, and just go!

Build a snowman. Roll some balls, big or small. Build a snowman together. Find rocks for eyes, twigs for arms, and wrap him up warm with a hat and scarf!

Have a snowball fight when we start to see a melt! Show the kids how to make a snowball. Have target practice. Set up something to throw at and let the kids get some practice in throwing!

Build a snow fort, aka an igloo. Grab some large tupper ware or Rubbermaid bins, fill them up and pack them down and stablize up the walls with water to turn it into ice.

While you’re out shoveling the driveway or sidewalk, let the kids help! Or have them make their own paths... maybe a snow maze!

Stomp through the snow and make footprints!

Instead of making your own footprints, look for animal prints! Do you find rabbit prints? Squirrels? Deer? What’s in your backyard?

Get creative outside in the cold! Paint the snow! Make it colorful! There is also grass chalk you could use.

After a fresh snowfall, go lay out in it and make some snow angels together. Make a whole family!

It's always hard to get outside when it's cold and snowy, and even more now that it's been like 1000 months of centimeters upon meters of snow, but all the girls and boys (just like we did back in the day) still will want to get out there and play in the snow!

Have fun!
