Prime Minister Stephen Harper is again beating the drums of a triple-e senate. He announced in the senate this week that his government plans to bring in legislation creating a process to make senate elections a reality.
MacLeod MP Ted Menzies, says the news was not exactly greeted with smiles in the red chamber.
He says some of the current senators were appointed while in their 40's and expected to be there until they were 75.
Harper gave no exact timelines for when senate elections would actually happen.
