Huge thanks to everyone involved with Meal in the Field this harvest. Wow, what an amazing community.

I just moved into High River in August and have been overwhelmed with the kindness and courtesy of down-to-earth people.

And Jim Robbins and his family and friends were no exception. What a great day getting to know Jim, his Dad Ed and Jim's son Josh.

Great company and learned a lot about their farming operation.  Third generation farmers from the area just east of Aldersyde and north of Blackie.

Nothing like a firm handshake and smile to make a stranger feel welcome.  After going around the circle and shaking hands with Jim, Ed, Josh, Donald, Brandon, Allan, Paul, Frank, Craig, Tony and Levi it was time to take the plate from Curtis of Rocky Mountain BBQ Catering and dive into some baked beans.

Between bites of the pulled beef on a bun and coleslaw they shared some stories and laughs.  What a great bunch of guys.  Will have to sneak over to the Legion in High River for a coffee with Ed when he stops in on Wednesdays to meet the rest of the gang.

Special thanks to High River Auto Plex and RV for sponsoring today because if it wasn't for the sponsors, Meal in the Field wouldn't be possible.

So, a big thank you to everyone for entering, entering your friends and family and allowing us to break bread and have some wholesome conversations.

There's no place else like the Foothills.
