He gave it his best shot, but in the end River's Edge Assistant Pro Dan McIntosh came up short in his bid for a world long drive championship.

The man known as "Smackintosh", came into the event ranked 31st in the world and dumped the 43rd ranked player in Ian Griscomb in round two, after getting a bye in the first round.

But in round three, McIntosh came up against the number five player in Joe Miller, and just couldn't keep up, going down two sets to one.

You can catch all the action of the finals, Wednesday, October 12 on The Golf Channel.
