One first place finish for local cowboys on night one of the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton as Arrowwood's Jeremy Buhler along with his Partner Levi Simpson from Ponoka won the first go-round in team roping.

Lot's of other locals in that event as well.

The duo of Kasper Roy from Mossleigh and Steele DePaoli from Longview were fifth, while Nanton's Rocky Dallyn and Okotoks Clint Buhler were sixth.

And rounding out the event, were Chase Simpson from Claresholm and Vulcan's Roland McFadden in eighth spot.

In bareback, Airdrie's Jake Vold was the man to beat, riding to top spot and a pay day of $12,324.47.

"It keeps my confidence high. I've been on one horse in the last couple of months, so it's been nice to come back and just prove to yourself that you're capable of being on top of your game."

Pascal Isabelle from Okotoks finished out of the money in 11th spot in bareback.
