It's going to be a musical throwdown at the Highwood Memorial Centre Saturday, November 9, as the High River Rotary club hosts their first ever "Lip Sync Battle."

The Club's President-Elect, Damian Boyle, says it's more than someone just singing along to their favourite tune.

"Really what it is is performers go out there and they're going to perform to a song, the proper song. So, let's say, Garth Brooks for example. It'll be Garth Brooks singing, but what they do on stage may not be what Garth Brooks would do."

Boyle says he doesn't want to give away too much, but he's expecting some show stoppers and a whole lot of fun.

"So, they're going to entertain us with their act, their costumes and they're going to be judged on all these things and at the end of the night the winning team is going to walk away with $1,000 in cash and $1,000 towards the charity of their choice. And not only that the audience at the end of the night, is going to get to vote on their favourite act of the evening and that act is going to walk away with 10 per cent of the door."

They open the doors at 6 p.m., with the show going around 7:30 p.m.

$30 gets you in the door with all the pizza you can eat.

For those taking part, there's still some spots open at $45 a crack.
