The Lomond Lakers are heading into their first season in the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League in just a couple of weeks.

They got their training camp going over the weekend, and Coach Mike Glawson says, don't tell his players they have to roll over because they're brand new to the league.

"I mean you look at what happened last year in the NHL with the Las Vegas Golden Knights. I mean, that's what we're selling to our players right now. Hey, why can't we be the Vegas Golden Knights of the Heritage Junior Hockey League? We don't have to come into this season and only expect to win two hockey games."

Fans get their first look at the Lakers Friday, September 7, in Strathmore against the Wheatland Kings.
