The Lomond Lakers look to put the brakes on a five game losing skid this weekend when they head to Airdrie Friday, December 6 and then host the Rocky Rams Saturday, December 7 in Vulcan.

The Thunder lead the Heritage League North Division, while the Rams are dead last in the North.

Coach Greg Honess says between injuries and illness he's having a hard time finding enough bodies to fill the bench.

"We're just going to try to scab together a crew, we've got lots of injuries and a few guys with lots of stuff happening here before Christmas with finals and stuff. So, it'll be interesting against Airdrie, and we're playing in Vulcan against Rocky (Rams), so we're going to go out and try to keep it close anyway."

Honess says penalty trouble cost them when they met the Thunder in their first meeting of the season last month in Vulcan.

"We were having a decent game against them in Vulcan and we just got into penalty trouble. The guys aren't going to get many favours from the ref's. So, we've just got to stay out of the box. That's the big thing for us now."

The High River Flyers host the Red Deer Vipers Friday, while the Okotoks Bisons welcome the Mountainview Colts.
