It may not feel like rodeo weather outside, but that's not going to stop athletes and fans from filling the streets of Red Deer as the 45th Annual Canadian Finals Rodeo kicks off Tuesday, October 29 at Westerner Park.

There's no shortage of locals taking part.

High River's Linden Woods will ride in bareback.

In saddlebronc, Jake Burwash from Nanton leads the way, along with Arrowwood's, Kole Ashbacher.

Jordan Hansen from Okotoks will try his luck in bull riding.

In tie down roping, perennial favourite, Logan Bird from Nanton is back.

Millarville's Jenna O'Reilly hits the infield in ladies barrel racing.

Beau Gardner, from Arrowwood, who was a star at this year's Calgary Stampede is back in junior steer riding, as is Chett Deitz from Milo in novice bareback.

And three locals hit the infield in team roping in the duo of Longview's Steele DePaoli, and Kasper Roy from Mossleigh, along with Nanton heeler, Tristan Woolsey.

The CFR runs through to Sunday, November 3.
