After having last Friday's game against LCI cancelled, the Holy Trinity Academy Knights will play their first game of the season on home soil, as they host the Chinook Coyotes out of Lethbridge Thursday night.

Coach Matt Hassett says despite nearly two weeks without a game, his squad is ready to go.

"It was unfortunate that all that smoke there did cancel our game last week," he says. "But, we did have a scrimmage the week before in Red Deer, and that went really well. We're not going in totally cold, but it'll be good to actually get some game action in."

Although the Coyotes are traveling in from Lethbridge, Hassett says he expects a hard battle right from the start.

"Most teams are used to traveling around in football to go to different places in the province," he says. "I expect a tough test, and I think we're going to have a really good game."

Hassett says the team is looking forward to the battle of Okotoks against Foothills Composite on Sep. 18, but it's still "one game at a time" until then.

"We don't want to look too far ahead of ourselves," he says. "We've got Chinook this week, we've got Crescent Heights from Calgary next week, and then we're really going to focus in on the battle of Okotoks against Foothills."

Game time is 7 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Academy.
