Former Okotoks Oiler Dylan Holloway cashed in on two goals in just his third NHL playoff appearance, even though the Edmonton Oilers fell to the LA Kings in game two during their first-round matchup.
Holloway would get on the board with a beautiful wrist shot from the high slot, beating Kings netminder Cam Talbot clean. Sam Carrick who was acquired at the trade deadline for the Oilers found an open Holloway and the Oilers would cut the two-goal Kings lead to just one, with a 3-2 score. Zach Hyman carried the momentum from Holloways goal and tied the game shortly after.
Kings would answer in early the third period to go back up 4-3, Holloway wouldn't let up and tied the game 4-4 minutes later. He would receive a pass from Mattias Janmark in the Kings zone, Holloway would then use the Kings defencemen as a screen on the right-side circle and find a hole to get his second of the night.
Kings would win in overtime with a goal from captain Anze Kopitar who has now tied the series 1-1.
The former Okotoks Oiler played in 83 games for the Green and Gold from the 2016-2017 to 2018-2019 season. Holloway put up 51 goals and 64 assists for a total of 115 points during his time in Okotoks.
Holloway dressed for 38 games with the Oil this season posting six goals and three assists for nine points. He will look to take the series lead in LA tomorrow at 8:30 pm.
