So we have a staff team for the Community Wellness Challenge and we're competing over 6 weeks but I wanted to share some great family bonding time that came out of last weekend.

I was looping in what the challenge is all about with my youngest son, Tanner and he was stoked because he wants me to get back in shape.  We decided to turn the previous Sunday into an opportuniy to exercise and hang out and do something we both love...hiking!

Went about 20 kilometres outside of Pincher Creek where we know some ranchers and farmers and went for a looooong hike in search of deer antler sheds.

So after over an hour and half of hiking we climbed to the top of a buffalo jump, sat down and enjoyed the unreal view.  We really live in an amazing part of the world where the beauty of nature is endless.

We did end up finding one shed, a really nice mule deer 4 pointer but the moment it happened when Tanner jumped higher than I thought possible yelling out 'Dad! Dad!  I found one!!!' and then watching him tear down the hill to get it was priceless.

What started out to as an opportunity to get in shape turned out to be a moment in time we'll always share and remember.

This 'getting back in shape' thing is off to a great start.

Sometimes the best things happen when you least expect it.

Cheers - Kevin
