The High River Bike Park Society got quite the Christmas Gift this year from Cargill just north of town.

The Society got a $75,000 donation from Cargill and President of the society, Jeff Hamilton says it was an amazing surprise

"We reached out to the community, Cargill was gracious enough to get in touch with us and say they were looking for a project to donate and provide towards for the community. They were willing to put $75,000 towards the pump track which was an amazing Christmas gift for us."

Hamilton says the huge jump in total donations will help them continue to apply for grants.

"Some of the grants that we are going to be applying for are matching grants so any grant that you write for if it's a matching grant, the money that you've raised they match it so, it's great to have such a large base to apply for."

Cargill purchased the largest available package from the pump track which grants them the naming rights to the future track.

"Cargill does so much for this community for them to be recognized for the good things that they do is not an issue for us and I think they should be recognized for the good things they do for the Foothills area."

The project is still shooting for a Fall 2021 grand opening according to Hamilton who says this donation will certainly help them reach their goal.
