The Province's sale of the former Beachwood Estates and Wallaceville areas of High River along with homes on Riverside Drive and High Park Drive is moving forward.

Together, the province and the town have been working on an agreement for about a year and a half that would see the town buy back the properties.

The town made a bid in the Spring but the Province countered back, wishing to remove the real estate commission, worth about $170,000.

That makes High River's bid now $3.681 million.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says the town can recover the difference with the auction of the homes when they go on the market.
