The Heavy Armoured Combat Sports Association is looking to move into the realm of organized sports on a larger scale.

Association President Richard Manns says they have plans for the future which include a western Canadian League.

"Our newest plan is to start a league that would travel amongst all the major cities in western Canada, and we are trying to get everyone on board to participate in a Heavy Armoured Combat League that would start in 2021."

Manns says with the success they saw at the Winter Cup in Okotoks earlier this year they're hoping it will kickstart this H.A.C. League.

"This year's Winter Cup in Okotoks went really well, so well that with the bare minimum of marketing that we did there was so much interest in it that we want to do it yearly and we are getting so many offers and interest in it that we might do it every six months."

Manns says the Okotoks Cup would be just one of many tournaments should this league start up in the new year.

"so what we are trying to do is make a tournament that is going to be the end of the leagues year, and have each city put on their own tournament, that would be Victoria, Yukon, Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Brooks, Regina, Hinton, and Drayton Valley. Teams from each city would travel to other cities to compete in those tournaments."

Manns says while all of this would be fantastic, one issue they have run into already and are worried about for the future is who's paying.

"One problem is that for everything we've done so far people have been paying from their own pocket and it starts to add up, Even traveling gets expensive because of the gear that we are bringing with us."

HACSA has seen some "sponsors" in the past but it is usually been a cash donation from someone who is interested in the sport,

Manns is hoping to get sponsorship to help pay for the league to build up the sport in Canada.
