Had a couple of ladies from Habitat for Humanity Foothills join the 99.7 Sun Country Morning Show today to update us on what they've been up to lately.

And, talk about being busy.

Marilyn Boake and Corene Loewen looped us in that they're getting ready to break ground in the spring in the D'Arcy community in Okotoks.  They're building a duplex thanks to support from Anthem United, Morrison Homes and the Town of Okotoks.

If you're not familiar with Habitat For Humanity, essentially they build homes for families that don't have the means to save enough for a down payment.  They're looking for eligible families right now for the duplex.  Interested families can take the pre-eligibility quiz online at www.habitatsouthernab.ca under the "Own a Home" tab.

There's also an online auction fundraiser going on rith now too. Go to www.elevateauctions.com from now until March 7th at 8 p.m.

Marilyn shared a heart-warming story this moning about a young boy who was showing her his new bedroom and he was over the moon.  The bedroom happened to be the smallest of the bedrooms but it was the first time he had his own room.  You can imagine how excited and thrilled he must've been.

And Corene shared another story about a couple that plan their holidays around the build times.  They actually take their 2 week holiday so they can help build the home.  They pack up their RV and drive to wherever the build is in the Foothills and get to work.  Isn't that incredible?

How can you not love living in the Foothills.
