Germaniuk, Grant  “Zac”
April 8, 1956 – May 10, 2013

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Zac Germaniuk on May 10, 2013 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary at the age of 57 years.  Zac is survived by his wife Shirley; daughter Kayla; brother Jeff (Shelley); brother-in-law Norm (Lina) Johnston; nieces Narda Germaniuk, Alexis (Darren) Germaniuk-Malin, Lana (Kyle) Germaniuk-Ryks, Krista  Johnston (Chris).  Zac was predeceased by his parents Barney and Charlotte; daughter Jessica and Shirley’s parents Clint and Nettie Johnston.

Zac was born in Edmonton and later moved to Calgary. He graduated from Henry Wise Wood, where he made lifelong friends. During his high school years he enjoyed competitive swimming where the nickname “Zac” was given to him. It was in the Trade Winds Bar that Zac and Shirley met in 1977. The romance blossomed and they were married in 1981. It was in 1994 that joy came into their lives when their daughter Kayla was born. Zac was a business entrepreneur that allowed him and his family to enjoy travelling to many parts of the world.  He was very passionate in all aspects of life; whether it was his cars, wine, golfing, fishing, skiing, playing his sax, cooking, friends   or his family, he loved them all. He was filled with endless stories that could liven up any crowd. Zac was a generous, funny, caring, honest and reliable friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
