The Okotoks Dawgs have a few alumni in the Majors including Pitcher Andrew Kittredge who played a big role in the Dawgs 2011 playoff run.

Associate Head Coach with the Dawgs, David Robb, says Kittredge wasn't with the Dawgs long, but he was effective.

"He came to us mid-season, threw about 30 or 40 innings but we had to move him along slowly because we didn't want to use him too much or too soon, He had great stats, he only walked four guys in 30 or so innings and struck out 30 guys, He was solid as a pitcher for us for that time, When we were in the playoffs that we lost to Regina, he had five of the saves so he was instrumental in the playoffs."

Robb says obviously he's excited to see a guy come through their program and end up finding a spot in a major league organization.

"It's always gratifying and exciting for him, He was in the big leagues last year, I don't know what their plan is for him this year but he's had some success in the big leagues and I think they are going to count on him this year."

Robb says coming into the Dawgs program Kittredge was all about the team first.

"Off the field, he was a real gentleman, a professional right from the start, he wasn't one to put his status from Washington state, we don't get many division one players he didn't put that over anyone he was just a really good teammate."

Kittredge is now throwing for the Rays after being drafted by the Seatle Mariners in 2008.
