The Federal government has turned over 100-million dollars for the next five years to the Canadian Food Grains Bank.
It'sa aimed at reducing hunger in developing countries.
Mcleod MP Ted Menzies...a farmer himself....says as bad as things get here, Canadians know it can be much worse elsewhere.
He says the Food Grains Bank is the best place to put the cash.
It's made up of 15 different churches and they have a good track record of accounting for where the money is spent and making sure it's spent wisely.
A new criteria for the money is it goes to programs where there is gender equality.
