The High River Flyers are ahead of the game when it comes to this week's fundraising golf tournament.

Once again it's a sell-out, which is a huge relief to Flyers V.P. Mike Bliss, who says a big chunk of the Flyers budget comes from this tournament.

"Other than a casino this is probably our biggest one day fundraiser that we do every year. So, it's very important to us. It's a great day, there's games to play during the golf game. You know, it'll be a slow round with all those golfers but nobody seems to complain and, knock on wood, the weather's always nice. So, it'll be a good day."

Bliss reminds golfers coming out to bring a donation for the High River Food bank.

He says there's also all kinds of games and other extras out on the course the team uses for additional funding, which are fun and great way to win some prizes.

He says they've also got some great silent auction items up for bids, including a number of signed NHL and retro Flyers jersey's signed by NHL greats.

As always golfers will get lunch and some beverages before heading out, and there's a dinner afterwards.

Bliss says to get there early because with 181 golfers heading out, it's going to be busy getting in and parked.

The day gets rolling at with a shotgun start at 1 o'clock at the Highwood Golf and Country Club.
