The High River Flyers had their wings clipped over the weekend by the Coaldale Copperheads.

The squad knew what they were up against as they both met the previous weekend with the Copperheads coming away with a 15-2 win.

And the Copperheads came away with both wins in the home-and-home series this weekend.

Up first was Friday night in High River as the Flyers lost 10-2 and an almost identical result on Saturday in Coaldale with a 9-2 loss for the Flyers.

It wasn't for a lack of effort either as the Flyers peppered 41 shots on net on Friday and they scored first on Saturday and lead 2-1 at one point but were unable to hold off the Copperheads.

And the regular season winds down this upcoming weekend with three games on tap for the Flyers.

They host Airdrie on Friday night and then head to Medicine Hat on Saturday and then hop back on the bus and wrap up in Sylvan Lake on Sunday.

And in Okotoks the Bisons continue their stellar season with two more wins over the weekend.

In a back and forth battle on Friday night they managed to squeeze a 5-3 win over the Medicine Hat Cubs.

The herd then travelled to Vulcan for a match against the Lomond Lakers and came away with a 6-1 victory.

The Bisons wrap up their regular season this weekend with two games on the docket.

They host Lomond on Friday night and then travel to Kainai to take on the Junior Braves on Saturday.
