The High River Flyers came out on the wrong end of a 6-0 loss to the Okotoks Bisons Sunday, February 23, in game two of their best of seven Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League South Division semi-final series against the Bisons.

Flyers Coach Colten Hayes was less than impressed with the team, saying their effort was "embarrassing."

"That was probably the worst effort I've seen in a group of guys and you know, it showed for it, 6-0. That's kind of what happens when you don't prepare and you come in lackadaisical against a really good team, one of the best teams in Western Canada."

The Bisons got the ball rolling early with a goal just 1:38 into the game, but really blew it open in the second period with four goals, including two on the power play in a span of just over seven minutes.

They added one more in the third for good measure, out-shooting the Flyers on the night 37-33, with goaltender Devin Reagan picking up his second straight shutout.

Hayes, says the Flyers came out without the "want or the will to win."

"We don't have it right now. I don't know what happened in the three day span from Wednesday night in Coaldale. But, it's a different group of guys we've got going right now. And like I said, we've got to be better."

Flyers forward Layne Sniher says the energy wasn't there from the start.

"You know I think we just came in flat-footed. You know, the energy wasn't quite there on the bench or on the ice. Tomorrow's a new day. Just look for a bounce back game tomorrow."

The Flyers were 0-for-8 with the man advantage, while the Bisons were 2-for-3 on the power play.

Game three in the best of seven series goes Monday, February 24 in High River, with the Flyers down two games to none.

The puck drops at 8:45 p.m. at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex.
