The High River Flyers handed the Banff Academy Bears their first win of the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League season Friday, October 21, in High River as the Bears scored a 5-3 win over the hometown Flyers.
But the Flyers bounced back to end their five game losing streak Sunday, October 23, in Medicine Hat with a 7-3 win.
The Bears gave the Okotoks Bisons all they could handle Saturday, October 22, out in Banff, as the Bisons needed the shoot-out to win 6-5 to run their winning streak to five games.
And the Strathmore Wheatland Kings had an up an down weekend with three games in three nights.
They fell 5-2 to the Cochrane Generals Friday, beat the Medicine Hat Cubs 7-1 Saturday and then lost 5-4 in a shoot-out Sunday in Ponoka to the Stampeders.
