The Calgary Flames are stepping up safety measures around the Saddledome in the hope of protecting, fans, employees and the players from being exposed to the Coronavirus.

The League has already banned media from dressing rooms, but the Flames have added extra cleaning staff and are also increasing the frequency of cleaning in washrooms, lobbies and elevators.

They've also added additional hand sanitizing stations.

In a release, the team says they're doing their due diligence when it comes to listening to health authorities.

"We continue to monitor information disseminated from Alberta Health Services and Health Canada regarding COVID – 19.

While Alberta Health Services continues to deem Alberta a low risk for COVID - 19, CSEC is reviewing policies and plans to ensure that we take all precautions to protect our employees and guests.

As recommended by Alberta Health Services, anyone with symptoms or feeling unwell should consider staying home."

The Flames host the New York Islanders Thursday, March 12.
