The Foothills Falcons kick off their football season Friday, August 30, as they head to Lethbridge to take on the LCI Rams.

It's a bit of a rebuilding year for the Falcons this season and Coach, Nathan St. Dennis, says most of the holes they need to fill are on defence.

"Definitely I think our strength is going to be our offence. And then defensively we've got some returning kids. But that's a side where we have to fill a whole bunch of spots left by graduating seniors. So, giving those kids an opportunity and putting them in the spotlight is going to be exciting."

St. Dennis, says what they're looking for out of their defence is guys that can go to the ball.

"It's all about 12 guys working together as a group. That'll give us success and it has given us success. Without a doubt that's it. It's more tempo. It's more attitude with a group mentality than any one guy and right now we have a great attitude on our defence."

The Falcons play their home opener Friday, September 6, when the Strathmore Spartans come to town.
