A tough tournament proves that our Senior Boys Foothills Composite Falcons have what it takes, as the boys end up with a 3rd place finish in the Notre Dame Invitational Tournament this weekend.

The 1st game for the Falcons set up the Okotoks boys with out of towner's MBCI Hawks. The Falcons were able to fly through that one winning 80-71.

Bishop O'Byrne and their 3rd place provincial ranking proved a challenge for the Falcons in the 2nd game over the weekend.

The Falcons came out and started with a good lead but the Bobcats pulled it together at the half time mark and came back with a vengeance.

After a quick break, the final quarter proved to be a back and forth battle and time wasn't on the Falcons side as the game ends giving the Falcons their first tournament loss by only 2 points, 79-77.

A 3rd place game took place yesterday where Falcon Josh Derochie carried his team on 25 points against the tournament hosts - Notre Dame.

Derochie and Adam Pahl would lead their team to a bronze medal victory 92-81.

Pahl with 79 points in the whole tournament would be named Tournament Allstar and Derochie would be named Player of the Game after a great performance in the final.

The boys will use this next week to practice as they prep for the South Central Zone Championships which will take place at Holy Trinity Academy in Okotoks in just 2 weeks.
