Despite a disappointing playoffs, the Okotoks Dawgs are still one of the most popular attractions in baseball in Canada.

In fact they're fourth overall in average attendance in the collegiate world, and with a little less rain in July, would have been third as they averaged 3,329 fans per game this past season.

They were just 55 fans per game short of ending up third on the list.

Dawgs Vice President William Gardner says he has to tip his cap to the fans.

"The truth is the wonderful support of the greatest fans in baseball is what it's all about. To average 33-hundred fans per game is truly incredible and really a testament to the wonderful fans of the Foothills corridor in Okotoks and High River."

The Dawgs saw average attendance rise by 400 fans per game this season, and have never seen a dip in attendance in the 10 years they've been in Okotoks.

Once again the Madison Mallards are number one with over 6,039 fans per game.

The Savannah Bananas are number two, with 3,659 per game.

And the Elmira Pioneers were number three with 3,384.

The Edmonton Prospects are the only other WMBL team in the top 50, at number 16 on the list with 1,820 fans per game.

Gardner says it would be tough to get into the number one spot, simply because the Mallards are playing in an old "AAA" stadium that can hold over eight thousand fans.
