Make it a clean sweep on their five game home stand for the Okotoks Dawgs after a convincing 9-4 win over Yorkton last night.

Dawgs Catcher Logan Trowbridge went 3-4 with four RBI's.

He says the main reason for the Dawgs success of late has been their defensive play giving their bats a chance to put up runs.

"Defense is huge," he says. "If we play defense we know we're gonna hit, if we play defense we're going to be in every game, no doubt."

With Trowbridge swinging the hot stick last night its just been his progression since arriving in Okotoks earlier this season.

"I've felt good the last couple of days," he says. "Just seeing the ball well, taking balls hitting strikes, that's what it comes down to, with runners in scoring position you got to be that much better."

With the win and a Lethbridge Bulls (27-10) loss, the Dawgs are now in range of the top spot in the WMBL's Alberta division just 4.5 games back.

The Dawgs (22-14) will now hit the road for a pair of games in Moose Jaw starting Saturday night and closing out Sunday afternoon before heading back to Seaman Stadium Tuesday Night for a date with the Swift Current Indians.

Trowbridge says first place has place in their mindset but they can't shy away from the work at hand in Saskatchewan this weekend.

"Its in the back of our minds, but we're just focused on the task at hand and the pitch at hand," he says.
